Bruce Daniels: 3rd Place at the 2025 British Open Paramotor Championships

Alex Ledger |

The British Open Paramotor Championships 2025 took place from 8th – 13th July at Bicester Aerodrome, where we used to run some training courses. Competing in the highly competitive PF1 (solo foot-launch) class among 19 pilots, Bruce Daniels delivered a standout performance.

Flying an Ozone Viper wing, generously loaned to him by SkySchool Instructor Zebur Mercan, paired with a Liberty Paramotors frame and powered by the Moster185 EFI engine, Bruce secured 3rd place overall. He shared the podium with Daniel Jones (1st) and Jonathan Hobbs (2nd), all of whom were flying Ozone wings.

This impressive result follows Bruce’s 2nd place finish at the 2023 British Championships, where he earned the prestigious Best Newcomer Trophy, and his British National Paramotor Champion title in 2024, when he placed 4th overall.

Next up for Bruce is the 2025 World Paramotor Championships, scheduled for 21st – 31st August in Chambley-Bussières, France. Until then, he’ll continue working as a SkySchool Instructor at Hinton Airfield.

Other News

We’ve now reached the halfway point of our 2025 season, and what a season it’s been! For the most part, the weather has been exceptionally kind, allowing us to make the most of the flyable windows. Kicking off the UK season during a heatwave wasn’t something we expected, but it didn’t stop us from getting airborne. In fact, Alex managed to fly 10 days in a row, a personal record for the UK!

Our end-of-season BBQ is scheduled for Saturday 30th August, and as usual everyone is welcome. To register, simply join this WhatsApp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/FUAaQ0xaFuu6wHplZqfqmv

After that, we’re heading out on SkyWeek France, which is fully booked, followed by a week of paragliding in Chamonix from 13th - 20th September, where there is one slot still available. We’ll then be running an SIV course in Turkey from 20th – 27th September, which also has a few remaining slots.
