Description

REDEFINED SIMPLICITY, ENHANCED PERFORMANCE

The iconic GIN G-Lite reserve has been reengineered. Now designed as a square, planar rescue parachute, the G-Lite 2 reserve features a 5-apex line configuration instead of a single centre line. This new geometry, combined with a minimalist panel layout, delivers lower packed volume, improved sink rates and stable, pendulum-free descents – all thanks to Planar rescue technology.

WHAT IS A PLANAR RESCUE?

A planar rescue is a new concept of rescue developed in-house by Gin Gliders, made possible by our new anti-billow rib technology. Lines are attached to triangular ribs deployed in a cross shape. This greatly reduces the billow of the canopy and produces an almost flat upper surface. As a consequence, the projected area is increased by 30%. This means excellent sink rates can be obtained with a lower flat area and packing volume. Overall, the efficiency of this system is the best we’ve ever experienced.

PENDULUM-FREE DESCENTS

Square rescue designs greatly reduce oscillations during descent. The improved roll and yaw stability of the G-Lite 2 ensures a more controlled ride — a critical safety factor in high-stress emergency situations.

SIMPLICITY AND MINIMALISM

Designed with a minimalist panel structure and fewer seams, the G-Lite 2 is straightforward to pack and less prone to packing errors. This reduction in complexity enhances deployment speed and reliability across a wide range of emergency scenarios.

PREMIUM MATERIALS

Constructed from the same high-quality fabrics and lines used across the Gin Gliders rescue range, the G-Lite 2 offers durability and consistency, making it a dependable option for everyday flying.

REDUCED WEIGHT AND PACKING VOLUME

Thanks to its planar layout and simplified construction, the G-Lite 2 is slightly lighter and more compact than its predecessor. It’s easier to carry and fits more efficiently into modern harness compartments.

WELL-CONSIDERED SIZING AND WEIGHT RANGE

While the flat surface has been reduced compared to its predecessor, we have maintained the same weight ranges with improved sink rate performance. This is due to the Planar Rescue Technology. The surface reduction also contributes significantly to the reduced packed volume.

FLAT PACKING

The G-Lite 2 is packed in a flat rectangular shape, perfectly matching many harness container shapes.
