SkyWeek OmanSkyWeek Expeditions, run by our partners at SkyOps Executive, are designed for qualified Pilots who already fly and wish to develop their skills and knowledge, while flying in stunning parts of the world. Past Projects

  • In 2007 SkySchool Instructor Dean Eldridge was commissioned by the Scientific Exploration Society to fly over the Bolivian rainforest in search of a remote meteorite crater. This was the first time a Paramotor was used for a scientific purpose and succesfully helped guide the ground team through the dense jungle to the crater.
  • In 2009 SkySchool MD Alex Ledger featured in the Channel 4 Series 'Daredevils', in which he instructed Neil Laughton on his First Solo Flight in the Parajet SkyCar.
  • In 2014 Alex founded Flying for Heroes, which involved teaching a group of Wounded, Injured and Sick Military Personnel how to fly ParaTrikes, before leading them on a 1000k trip up the Rift Valley in Kenya.
  • In 2015 The Adventurists approached SkySchool to help run the inaugural Icarus Trophy, a 1000k Paramotor Race from Seattle to Sacramento.
  • In 2016 Alex led a team of pilots, including double amputee Cayle Royce, on the record breaking 1200km JOGLE Expedition from John O'Groats to Lands End.
  • In 2016 Alex ran a WW1 Battlefield Tour for a group of Paramotor and ParaTrike Pilots around the Somme and Vimy Ridge Battlefields in France.
  • In 2017 Alex Ledger and John Coles were part of the BBC TV series 'Extreme Wales with Richard Parks'. In the final episode Alex taught Richard how to fly before leading him on an epic adventure through Wales.
