Paragliding Holidays in ChamonixSkySchool MD Alex Ledger is an avid Paraglider Pilot and spends a lot of time in Chamonix, France, one of the best Paragliding destinations in the world. Alex runs Paragliding Holidays for qualified Paraglider Pilots. So, if you like the idea of taking off from the Aiguille du Midi at 3,700m, flying down the Vallée Blanche or simply doing a few top to bottoms after a day of skiing, Chamonix is the place to do so. We can organise:

  • Accommodation in a single or shared room with breakfast
  • Transport around the Chamonix valley to the various flying sites
  • Advice on the various flying sites in the Chamonix Valley

Normal Itinerary:

  • Fly into Geneva Airport and catch a 70 minute transfer with AlpyBus to Les Houches
  • Stay in a single or shared room in Alex's chalet
  • Breakfast between 08:00 and 09:00 (potentially earlier if catching the first Aiguille du Midi lift)
  • Transport to the local take off, landing and flying sites followed by a Safety Briefing
  • Morning of flying from Brevent-Planpaz followed by lunch - normally 2 or 3 flights
  • Afternoon of flying from the Plan de L'Aiguille - normally 1 ridge soaring flight
  • Supper in Chamonix or at Alex's Chalet
  • Repeat for as long as the weather is suitable before catching an AlpyBus back to Geneva!

Exceptions to this Itinerary:

  • To discuss combining a skiing and paragliding holiday together during the winter months please contact us
  • For those with the necessary skills and if the weather is suitable it is possible to fly from the glaciers on the Grand Montets (3,300m) and Aiguille du Midi (3,700m). These flights are truely epic and require all of the necessary alpine equipment which can be rented in Chamonix.

Requirements and Conditions:

  • Pilots must be qualified Paraglider Pilots
  • Pilots must have a valid Insurance Policy for Paragliding
  • Pilots must have their own suitable equipment including a reserve parachute and helmet
  • This is not a 'guiding' or 'instructing' service and we will not be held responsible in the event of an incident
