SkySchool students and staff are accommodated in cabins on a camp site on the edge the lake. Each student will have a single room in a shared, self catered bungalow with air conditioning. On Sunday check in is after 3pm and check out no later than 10am. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, as well as a supermarket.

Travel, Transport & Insurance

The nearest airports are Jerez, Seville, Gibraltar and Malaga. Students should aim to arrive and depart on a Sunday. We recommend students hire a car in order to not only make your travel from the airport to Lake Bornos very easy but also to give you more freedom to explore the region when not training. We will connect students together on a WhatsApp group a month or so before the course allowing you to discuss sharing hire cars. We require students sitting a course in Spain to have their own Insurance.

Is Paramotoring in Spain fun?
Lake Bornos is Spain is a great Paramotoring flying location and the home of the Paramotor Slalom events which take place over the water. The enormous flat and open area is the ideal Paramotor training location. There is also an amazing flying site on the coast at Conil de la Frontera which is about 1 hour from Lake Bornos.
Where do you offer Paramotor and ParaTrike Training in Spain?
The training sites in Spain are Lake Bornos, which is about 1 hour south of Seville and 2 hours west of Malaga. We also fly from Conil de la Frontera on the coast, which is 1 hour west of Gibraltar and close to the famous Cape Trafalgar.

The consistent weather, both at Lake Bornos and on the coast, as well as the large, unobstructed sites, makes Spain one of the best Paramotoring and ParaTriking training locations in Europe.
How safe is it to Paramotor in Spain?
It is very safe to learn how to Paramotor in Portugal. The golden rule is to never fly low over the water. The wide open training site at Lake Bornos ensures there are very few obstacles that create rotor or for the the student to be distracted by when taking off or landing. Likewise the wide, open beaches ensure we never need to fly over the sea at any stage. The on shore laminar winds make flying on the coast really smooth and ideal for Paramotoring and ParaTriking.
What is the best place to Paramotor in Spain?
Our favourite site is on the coast at Conil de la Frontera as the on shore breeze makes the conditions extremely smooth. It is also possible to fly all day as there are no thermals on the coast. When not flying there are plenty of good restaurants, some of which you can fly to!

I initially signed up for a two week course in Sotogrande having had no previous experience in paramotoring or any air sports. The instructors Zeb and Ricardo were fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and made you feel at ease throughout the process from training to your first flights. The course was brilliant, great people, amazing location and some epic flights Having enjoyed the course in Spain so much I decided to sign up to Skyweek France in August 2022. Amazing scenery, great food, great people and once again fantastic flying. Big thanks to Alex, Bruce and Pete for all their help, and hopefully see you all on another trip

I signed up for a weeks course with Skyschool in Sotogrande Alex Edwards -

I signed up for a weeks course with Skyschool in Sotogrande having had zero experience with not much idea of what to expect. The course was outstanding - great fun, great people and of course excellent flying. The instructors, Ricardo and Zeb were first class, expert at putting everyone at ease and getting us into the air and down again safely. The location - Southern Spain in November - just added to the experience. Great food, wonderful culture, close to Tarifa for watersports etc. So - would I recommend Skyschool? Yes, absolutely.

I learnt to fly with SkySchool some years ago Oliver Vaughan -

I learnt to fly with SkySchool some years ago, my first week was in Wiltshire and then a monthlater in Spain for a couple of weeks at teh end of June. In August I joined a SkySchool adventure flying 1,000 kilometers up the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. A couple of years later I spent a week with SkyShool flying in the desserts in Oman - fantastic!! Since then I have flown on a number of occasions with Alex Ledger and Zebur Mercan in Monmouthshire and very recently in Oxfordshire. All great fun - I can only highly recommend this outfit. Have fun, fly safely and enjoy yourselves. Attached are videos of my first solo take-off and landing.
