Instructors

Kitesurfing in KenyaThe Zero to Hero Kitesurfing Instructor courses operate in Mombasa, Kenya and Bembridge, UK. The 9 week course starts on the Isle of Wight with an introductory weekend where the trainees are taught to wakeboard in order to develop their board riding skills. This also goes towards their training as a Wakeboard and Waterski instructor. Following this the trainees fly out to Mombasa in Kenya for 6 weeks of intensive training in all aspects of Kitesurfing. In Kenya the trainees have the opportunity to see a fully operational Kitesurfing centre in action and work alongside some of the world's best Kitesurfing instructors. Life is not all about work as there will be time to explore the diversity of Kenya with excursions such as safaris. Whilst learning to Kitesurf Trainees also hone their skills as a wakeboarder and waterskier. On return to the UK the trainees enter two weeks of instructor training which should culminate in them attaining their instructor certificates. This phase covers not just teaching Kitesurfing, Wakeboarding and Waterskiing, but also safety boat driving, first aid and other aspects of centre management which are key to their success as an instructor. All trainees who pass can then take advantage of the after course careers service.
