Aerial Filming Services from SkySchool Flight Centre

SkySchool has extensive experience in using Paramotors for pratical purposes. In the past we have worked on a variety of interesting and diverse projects and can be contracted to carry out similar work. These include the following:

• In 2007 we worked with John Blashford Snell and the Scientific Exploration Society on an expedition to Bolvia in search of a remote meteorite crater. The Paramotors were used to recce the route through the jungle to the crater, to relay messages from the advance party back to base and for aerial filming. This was the first time Paramotors were used for a scientific purpose and they proved to be an extremely useful tool. Further information on this Expedition can be found here.

• In 2008 we teamed up the rally car manufacturer MacRae Enduro to provide aerial filming and support. The first event we filmed was the Baja Espana followed by some trials near the SkySchool HQ in north east Spain. Later in the year we filmed the Tunisia shakedown where they tested their latest Dakar rally car. Follow the links for footage of the trials in Spain and the Tunisia shakedown.

• In 2009 the SkyCar Expedition team came to the SkySchool HQ in Spain to test fly the SkyCar up to 1000ft for the first time. SkySchool MD Alex Ledger instructed Neil Laughton on his first solo flights and also captured some aerial footage which was used in the channel 4 documentary Daredevils.

• Towards the end of 2009 SkySchool trialed the use of paramotors and trikes for surveying a local pipeline in Spain. They proved to provide a viable and considerably cheaper option for electriticy, gas and oil companies to survey their various installations. This option is currently being explored by certain companies with pipelines in remote locations around the world.

• SkySchool is currently in discussion with the charity Shelter Box. The aim is to support the charity in disaster zones by providing 'eyes in the sky' in the form of Paramotor pilots and liaising directly with the ground team in order to provide real time feedback of the disaster zone, aerial photography and footage, aerial delivery of supplies, recconaissance and more.
